Dr. Joseph Iuorno is an American Academy of Ophthalmology board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained in Corneal/External Disease and Refractive Surgery. In addition to his office, Dr. Iuorno has participated in Academic medicine as the Director for the VCU Department of Ophthalmology Residency Training Program from 2005 – 2011. Currently Dr Iuorno is on staff as an Assistant Clinical Professor.

Dr. Iuorno has participated as a professor in the Osler Institute Ophthalmology Review course. The Osler Course is a national ophthalmic review course for all ophthalmologists preparing for written and oral board certification examinations. These courses are held in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia several times throughout the year.

Dr. Iuorno received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. After completing an internship at St. Joseph’s University Health Center, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Upstate Medical Center. He completed his Cornea/ External Disease/ Refractive Surgery Fellowship Training at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Iuorno participated as a principle investigator in an FDA study on cornea collagen crosslinking.
