Meet Dr. Kenny

Dr. Kenny is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is eager to deliver outstanding care to her patients.

She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Genetics at Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude. During her undergraduate years, she performed research in a genetics lab studying the migration patterns of Monarch butterflies. Her work examined the genetics of retinal photoreceptors that lay the foundation of the butterflies’ internal “clock” that guides their annual migration through the United States and Central America. This research work is what initially piqued her interest in ophthalmology.

She obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Health San Antonio. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the Gold Humanism award during her final year. After medical school, Dr. Kenny completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. This program is widely regarded as one of the busiest ophthalmology training programs in the country. There she received the “Consultant of the Year” Award from the Parkland Health Emergency Department in 2024. She then completed a year of additional fellowship training in Cornea, Keratorefractive, and External Diseases at UT Southwestern in Dallas.

Dr. Kenny is happy to provide a wide breadth of ophthalmic care for her patients. Her residency and fellowship training have equipped her to manage comprehensive ophthalmic problems including cataract, dry eye, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as corneal pathology including Fuch’s corneal dystrophy, keratoconus, corneal ulcers, and more. She is dedicated to delivering excellent and efficient care for her patients. She takes time to understand each patient’s individual needs and providing the tailored care and attention that each individual deserves.

In her spare time, she enjoys running (and is excited to explore the new running horizons of Richmond), traveling, and spending time with her husband and young son.
