Joseph D. Iuorno, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Commonwealth Eye Care Associates, serving patients in Richmond, VA. Dr. Iuorno specializes in ophthalmic consultation and co-management with cornea and cataract surgery.
In addition to his office, Dr. Iuorno has participated in academic medicine as the Director for the VCU Department of Ophthalmology Residency Training Program from 2005 – 2011. Currently Dr. Iuorno is on staff as an Assistant Clinical Professor.
Dr. Iuorno has participated as a professor in the Osler Institute Ophthalmology Review course. The Osler Course is a national ophthalmic review course for all ophthalmologists preparing for written and oral board certification examinations. These courses are held in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia several times throughout the year.
He has also participated as a principle investigator in an FDA study on cornea collagen crosslinking.
