Dr. Ana E. Astruc attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University graduating with a major in Human Nutrition Food and Exercise and minoring in Biology and Medicine and Society.
She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Davie, Florida.
While in Florida, she completed 2 student externships with Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute and Correct Vision Laser Institute, working on a team consisting of Retina, Cornea, Refractive, and Oculoplastic Ophthalmologists. Dr. Astruc most recently completed her residency at Virginia Eye Consultants in Norfolk, VA under the mentorship of Dr. Walt Whitley. There she focused on ocular disease with an emphasis on refractive surgery and co-managed post-operative care.
Dr. Astruc enjoys being active in the community to support and enhance patient care. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and Richmond Optometric Society. She also enjoys volunteering and has volunteered at the Special Olympics, performing vision testing on the athletes.
Aside from her passion for patient care, she is also passionate about her hometown of RVA. Outside of the office, you can find her hiking, skiing, camping and going to the beach. She also enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
At CECA, Dr. Astruc specializes in comprehensive consultation and co-management, treatment of eye diseases, and pre- and post-surgical care.
